KFC Style Chicken Nuggets

These golden chicken nuggets are a hit among kids and adults alike! The extra crunchiness in them is the secret of the unique taste of these.

I used a novelty idea of coating the chicken pieces with crushed cornflakes to give them a beautiful golden crust that will stay crispy for a long time.

If you stick a piece of these between a burger bun with lettuce and a dollop of Ketchup, you will have an instant chicken burger!

Next time, when you are jotting down your weekly shopping list, remember to add garlic powder and onion powder into it because those two ingredients contribute to the taste in a great deal. Do not worry, if you don’t have them, you can always trust salt and pepper to adjust the taste.

Easy peasy recipe, even kids can try this out!

So let’s make it;

Chicken Breast300 g
Eggs 2
Cornflakes2 cups
Plain flour1 1/2 cups
For Seasoning
Salt to taste
Garlic powder 1 tsp
Red chili powder or paprika1 tsp
Onion powder (optional)1/2 tsp
Pepper powder to taste

Let’s make;

  • Cut the chicken breast into bite-size pieces
  • Sprinkle salt and pepper and keep aside
  • Place corn flakes in a plastic bag and crush into crumbs using a rolling pin
  • Beat the egg in a bowl, mix a pinch of salt and pepper
  • Mix  plain flour, garlic powder, a few pinches of salt, onion powder, red chili powder and pepper powder and place in a flat plate
  • Now take a piece of chicken, dust in plain flour, dip in the beaten egg and finally roll in the cornflakes crumbs
  • Deep fry until golden
  • Serve with Ketchup
  • You can make a round shape and place it between a burger bun with lettuce and squeeze a dollop of ketchup and make a delicious crusty chicken burger for your kid’s lunch box or as a snack

Egg Roti – Delicious Sri Lankan Street Food

1st Step : Make the dough for rotis

You will need :

 All purpose flour  2 cups
 Salt  1/2 tsp
 Olive oil (Any cooking oil would do)  1 tbsp
 Sugar  1/2 tsp
Baking powder  1/2 tsp

Knead it :

  • Rub flour, sugar, salt, baking powder and oil together
  • Add lukewarm water little by little and knead for about 5 – 8 mins until the dough doesnt stick on to your fingers
  • Divide into equal sized balls giving an extra kneed to each ball
  • Rub oil on each ball.  Place on a tray a little apart from each other
  • Cover with a wet tea towel or a cling film and let them rest at least 2hrs


Make the egg mixture:

You will need : Eggs, chili powder, onion and salt

  • Beat 3 eggs in a bowl, season with salt and keep aside.
  • Take a dough ball out and flatten it by carefully stretching from the sides
  • Heat a flat pan, spray oil and place the stretched out roti on it
  • Pour some of the egg mixture on the roti
  • Throw a handful of chopped onions, chili powder and salt.  You can add a chopped green chili for a spicier taste
  • Cover and cook for a minute
  • Fold the egg roti in half
  • Cover and cook further until both sides are well cooked

  • You can cut the egg rotis into equal size triangles and serve with ketchup for kids.
  • Serve them for adults with a steaming cup of plain tea with ginger pieces floating on top.
